Current Needs & Donation Guidelines

Thank you for supporting children and families on their path to healing. Below is our current list of most-needed items and donation guidelines. Your generosity helps us meet critical needs with dignity and care.

Current Needs List

Essentials for Children, Teens, and Adults

  • Diapers (sizes 1–6) and pull-ups (especially 3T–5T)
  • Sensitive baby formula (e.g., gentle or hypoallergenic)
  • New underwear and socks (all sizes, including adult sizes)
  • Disposable razors and razor blade refills

Household & Hygiene Supplies

  • Laundry detergent (unscented preferred)
  • All-purpose cleaners, dish soap, sponges
  • Toilet paper and paper towels

Gardening & Campus Beautification Supplies

• Gardening gloves (adult and youth sizes)
• Hand tools (trowels, hand rakes, watering cans)
• Native plants, herbs, and veggie starts (please call ahead to coordinate)
• Mulch, compost, or soil donations (call ahead)
• Outdoor storage containers or hose reels

Gift Cards

• Gas cards
• Grocery store gift cards (Kroger, Meijer, Walmart, etc.)

Prohibited or Call-Ahead Items

To protect the safety and dignity of the families we serve, we cannot accept:

  • Stuffed animals
  • Used car seats, cribs, or mattresses
  • Religious pamphlets or materials
  • Items that are broken, heavily worn, or missing parts
  • Opened or expired food

Please call ahead before donating:

• Perishable or homemade food (may be accepted for Celebrating Families! programming)
• Furniture or large household items
• Live plants or bulk gardening materials
• Items from an organized group drive

Donation Hours:

Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Friday: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Please do not leave donations outside during nonbusiness hours. If you need to arrange a drop-off at a different time, please email us at community@thefamilyark.org to schedule.
